These daters have bossed Swipe Island (Picture: Pavlo Gonchar/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images) While weāve been watching Love Island, Tinder has been holding an event titled Swipe Island, where daters can get into the swing of the show ā and even match with former contestants. With the show itself ā and, as a result, the virtual Casa Amor ā almost finished, the dating app has analysed their data to see who fared best with summer romances. Itās worth noting, we did ask Tinder how they defined a āsuccessfulā dater, and they said it was ābased on a combination of swipe activity, matches and conversations.ā For some, dating success might mean leaving the app ā thereās no definitive metric. However, itās clear whatever these folks are doing with their profiles is working. Theyāve shared the secrets of their success on the app, and their tips and tricks to create a successful profile. You can also head straight to their profiles, for a chance to be their next match or get a profile as good as theirs. Blake, 24, Cardiff, Radiographer Blakeās ideal man needs to get on with his mum (Picture: Tinder) What turns your head? āA good sense of humour is a big plus; someone who is able to not take life too seriously. Letās face it, life is hard. So, I would like to find somebody who can make me laugh after a stressful day at work. āHowever, I think there is a big difference between someone who has a good sense of humour and a person whoās not serious in life. I want someone who brings out the best version of myself, someone who is thoughtful. āIām close with my family so it would be important for a potential match to get along with them; especially my mum!ā Whatās your advice for getting noticed on Tinder? āDonāt just have the same selfies on repeat, even if youāre in a different outfit each time. I think having a variety of pictures in different situations, whether it be with friends or playing sports, helps to create a more rounded profile. āAlso a witty opening line in a bio definitely helps to catch attention.ā Who would you couple up with from this series of Love Island? āIt would probably be Matt! He seems so chill, down to earth and genuinely a nice guy. He also has an insane body which helps!ā Molly, 24, Milton Keynes, Primary School Teacher For Molly, itās important to be a girlās girl (Picture: Tinder) What turns your head? āMy ideal guy would be someone that can match my energy. I love to get out and about, trying different foods, visiting new places and ticking off things on my bucket list. āI am chatty and enjoy a giggle, so if you can make me laugh youāve already caught my interest. I like someone that is confident in themselves and complimentary towards me (we all love someone that makes us feel special). āUltimately, I would like someone in my life that is honest, trustworthy and loyal ā to stand by me and make memories with me.ā Whatās your advice for getting noticed on Tinder? āBe true to who you are, show off your personality and display your best assets! Choose pictures that you feel great in and genuinely feel happy at the time, because others will pick up on this from your photos. Happiness is attractive! I āIād suggest taking pictures that show a close up of your face, full lengths of your body and pictures at different angles as this variety shows you in your full glory ā be proud of who you are! āWith conversation, being friendly and warm is key. Girls always appreciate a compliment and like someone that can make them laugh⦠be easy going and open minded.ā Who would you couple up from this series of Love Island? āI love seeing friendships blossom and romances start! If I had a choice of who to couple up with I would have chosen Sam Jackson because he seemed like a gentleman but also a laugh⦠plus he wasnāt too difficult to look at either. āMy absolute favourite girls are Liberty and Chloe though as they seem like gorgeous girls inside and out! Liberty is a girlās girl which I love and Chloe makes me laugh so much with her sass ā itās brilliant!ā Ashley, 28, Surrey, Corporate Manager Ashley is partial to the finer things in life (Picture: Tinder) What turns your head? āAs someone that likes the finer things in life, Iām looking for a guy that enjoys a similar lifestyle and that can match my energy. Of course, there has to be the initial attraction, but if a guy is outgoing and has good morals, then heāll definitely turn my head. āIād also like to match with someone who works as hard as me, both in the gym and at the office. And donāt forget strong conversation, then Iāll know Iām seriously onto a winner.ā Whatās your advice for getting noticed on Tinder? āIād say if youāre interested in someone then definitely skip the waiting game and just message them first. āIn your profile, include photos which show you at your best and avoid group photos as no one has time for guessing whoās who. āAlso, if you want to start things off on a positive note, Iād recommend not putting a list of criteria in your bio of what you donāt want in a match. It can be really offputting and create a pessimistic tone.ā Who would you couple up from this series of Love Island? āIād either have coupled up with Brad, as he has such a handsome smile and is clean cut, or Chuggs who looks a bit like Prince Charming to me.ā Oisin, 19, Belfast, Uni Student / Lifeguard Oisin likes playing Gaelic Football and hates arrogance (Picture: Tinder) What turns your head? āIām looking for a girl who is sporty and shares my passion for working out. I play Gaelic Football for my club and county and want someone whoās going to cheer me on from the sidelines, or even kick the ball with me. āItās also really important to me that my match is modest and down to earth ā arrogance is definitely a turn off!ā Whatās your advice for getting noticed on Tinder? āMy top tip would be to open the conversation with a GIF or your best joke, to kick things off on the right foot. āI also reckon that showing off your hobbies and interests in your photos gives your match something to chat with you about and know straight away if youāll have things in common.ā Who would you couple up from this series of Love Island? āIf I was on the show this year, Iād definitely be putting all my eggs in Millieās basket. Letās face it she is fit and also has a cracking sense of humour. Most of all, she seems so real and genuine and I am all for that.ā Emma, 22, Guildford, Podcaster Emma is looking for a sensitive and intelligent boy like Love Islandās Teddy (Picture: Tinder) What turns your head? āI recently finished my degree in Fine Art so Iād love to find someone that was really creative. In my spare time I love writing and host a podcast called Hunbelievable with my sister, so someone who also has creative flair would turn my head! āAn arty boy would be ideal. Iām looking for a nice guy ā someone who is funny and doesnāt take themselves too seriously and ideally theyād be quite tall because Iām 5ā9 and like wearing heels on a night out.ā Whatās your advice for getting noticed on Tinder? āYour photos have got to reflect what you actually look like normally, so nothing too filtered or out of date. Recent pictures are a must ā I donāt want to be surprised by someone having facial hair in their photos and then meeting in person to find you freshly shaven! āI actually matched with Chuggs on Swipe Island and slid straight in there with a joke. My top advice would be to chat with someone like you know them, no small talk, come at me with humour, emojis and great one liners.ā Who would you couple up from this series of Love Island? āTeddy, 100%! He fits my nice guy territory and is absolutely gorgeous. I did like Brad too before he left, he was super calm and importantly tall! I find Toby hilarious with his feral energy, a mix of him and Teddy would be perfect.ā Robert, 25, Cardiff, Primary School Teacher Robās best advice for daters is to present your true self (Picture: Tinder) What turns your head? āSomeone who I can have a laugh with, be myself around and just be able to chill out with ā this type of guy is way more likely to bring out the best in me. āI also rate someone that is able to compromise and enjoys learning new things, someone who is kind-hearted like myself, and someone that can just appreciate even the little things in life. āI like to see someone who is passionate about their work, as having a good and strong work ethic always gets a big tick from me. And last but not least, a good kisser and someone whoās able to whip up a storm in the kitchen certainly wouldnāt go amiss.ā Whatās your advice for getting noticed on Tinder? āFor anyone seeking some tips to level up your Tinder profile I think that itās incredibly important that you just put yourself out there as you and not some fake ego persona. āWhen it comes to the conversations you may have with them, just be yourself and answer honestly ā whatever your instinct tells you to say. Show some humour when you are chatting to someone, share with them if theyāve made you smile or laugh. Just donāt hold back. āIn terms of the pictures for your profile, I would say edited and filtered photos are a big no, as the last thing you want to find out is that someone didnāt ask you on a second date because you didnāt look like your profile. Donāt be afraid to show your true self.ā Who would you couple up from this series of Love Island? āIf he was also gay, I probably would have coupled up with Matthew. Heās just my type ā he has such a lovely nature. He made me laugh and I remember him saying that he was chilled and adventurous, so that wouldāve been a big yes for me.ā Katie, 23, Colchester, Foreign Exchange Katie wants an active partner (Picture: Tinder) What turns your head? āIām super sporty, I used to swim competitively, horse ride and be part of the cheerleading team at uni so I am looking for someone to keep up with me! āIād love to find someone energetic and adventurous, Iām an active person and love to learn new things. Anyone that could teach me something new definitely ticks a box!ā Whatās your advice for getting noticed on Tinder? āBeing honest, my bio covers my good bits and bad bits but itās truthful! Everyone should be as authentic as they can be so thereās no surprises later down the line. āI think a good first photo works wonders and ideally not a group shot so I know who Iām looking out for. One guy did put arrows in his group photo saying āthis is meā that made me laugh! Listing your hobbies is a great conversation starter too.ā Who would you couple up from this series of Love Island? āI think Toby is the funniest in the villa, so would definitely pick him personality wise. I reckon weād get on like a house on fire and can imagine us constantly laughing. Liam is also gorgeous but Iām 100% Team Milliam ā Iād definitely want to be friends with Millie, sheās down to earth and I love her outfits.ā Do you have a story youād like to share?
